THE GIFT – WHAT IT IS
The holy spirit field brethren is one of the most poorly translated and therefore most misunderstood sections of God’s Word. My words to you – guided of course by the spirit – have been taken apart and weakened to the point that great clarification is now required. God’s original clarification has ended up becoming a confused mess which has caused great problems of understanding within the Church.
The first thing you must understand clearly is the fact that God is Spirit – The Holy Spirit. Capital H and capital S. On the other hand, the gift we all receive from God when we believe is His gift of holy spirit – small h and small s. In the Greek manuscripts and texts, the word for spirit, pneuma, is never capitalized, therefore, when the translators interpreted this word pneuma, utilizing a capital “S” or a small case “s”, it was their own personal interpretation which of course we know is forbidden by God! For this reason, very few of you know who or what The Holy Spirit or holy spirit is!
The Creator God Yahweh of Spiritual Armies (The Holy Spirit), gives His gift, pneuma hagion – holy spirit, to those who believe. As has been explained in Luke 11: 13: “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your Heavenly Father give the holy spirit (pneuma hagion) to them that ask Him?”
It is very clear here that the “holy spirit” should be small case h and s. God does not give Himself to us who believe, but of Himself! Could it be any simpler?
John 14: 16, 17, 26: “And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another comforter, that he (it, the comforter) may abide with you forever; even the spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him (it) not, neither knoweth him (it): but ye know him (it); for he (it) dwelleth in you, and shall be in you. But the comforter, which is the holy ghost (pneuma hagion), whom the Father will send in my name, he (it) shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
Did not our Lord Himself inform us that those who believed on Him would absolutely speak with new tongues?
Mark 16: 17: “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues.”
The gift from the Father (pneuma hagion) that was to make this possible is referred to in different ways within the scriptures: “the comforter”, “power from on high”, “the promise of the Father”, “to be baptized with the holy spirit”, “And they were all filled with the holy ghost”.
Here is the Pentecost account of how it came about:
Acts 2: 1-4: “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they (the 12 apostles) were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were filled with the holy ghost (pneuma hagion), and began to speak with other tongues, as the spirit gave them utterance”.
Their speaking in tongues was the external manifestation in the physical realm of the reality of their inborn gift from God of holy spirit – pneuma hagion.
Acts 2: 38, 39: “Then Peter said unto them, repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ (Yashua Ha Masiyach) for the remission of sins, and ye shall (absolutely) receive (lambanō, manifest) the gift of the holy ghost (pneuma hagion). For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”
This gift brethren, promised to us by Yahweh’s Son Yashua, is the same to you today in these end times as it was back then almost 2000 years ago! God does not change! And neither is He a man that He should lie to us!
If God is so very careful in His use of language and words, then why does man treat His Word with such carelessness in translation? How could man dare to translate the word pneuma and its corresponding neighbour hagion, using upper case letters sometimes (Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost) and lower case letters (holy spirit) at other times, and insert at will the article “the” when it does not appear in the early manuscripts or in the Critical Greek Texts?
This abuse by the translators has caused you untold problems and today has the Church teaching for the most part absolute nonsense on the subject! I feel both anger and shame for you that the devil could so easily remove the understanding of the promise and its inherent power! Today’s Church suffers from a strange form of mind disease which needs cured quickly, but alas, for some I fear that the cure will not come, they are so far gone on wrong teaching, so mind controlled by it that they will not listen to sound doctrine! I am afraid for them! Pride causes them to laugh and scorn sound doctrine they have never been taught, which are not fruits of the spirit. For that reason, blindness has fallen upon them.
Does not the Word itself explain to us the power we have in the new birth? We are more than conquerors! We can do all things in Christ Jesus who strengthens us! We are strengthened with His might in our spirit! All things which He did, we can do also and more! Signs, miracles, raising the dead, healing – but who of you believe this? You disbelieve, make excuses and even mock the truth of God’s Word! I speak again to your shame. You are altogether gone out of the way and are wandering lost!
The Word of God can be likened to the mightiest of sailing vessels, that for anyone to sail therein, they must first learn how to steer their course and learn how to tie the multitude of specialist knots, watching the listing of the wind, setting their course firmly, in order that they may sail unhindered through the great oceans. Each different knot being equally important to the performance and safety of the vessel and its sailors. There are many knots to tie and untie during the journey, some small, some big, but only one “Great Knot”. One day there entered into this great sailing vessel, freshmen who had not first learned the basic rules of working the knots and watching the wind, but had their own ideas – each one – on how it should be done, even to the tying of the “Great Knot” on which the entire vessel and its crew depended.
Between them, there were some who could work the small knots and others who could deal with certain of the larger knots. They managed to set sail, but lo, unknown to them, when they reached far out into the great deep, the vessel could not be made to sail a straight course but floundered in the water making great circles, having no final destination. This brethren, is today’s Church! Lost at sea, floundering in the deep, powerless, at Satan’s mercy, its sailors are stiff-necked and proud, its passengers like lost sheep, the blind following the blind, as it was in the days of our Lord with the unbelieving Jews! Its captains I fear miss the leading of the wind because they understand not the basics of sailing the great deep nor of the tying of knots. The “Great Knot” seems to be beyond their understanding.
The gift then, is the gift of holy spirit from the Creator God, an equal free gift to all who believe. God is no respecter of persons. I wrote to you beforehand regarding this gift and its manifestations and also told you that if any man thought himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things written unto you from me were the commandments of the Lord! I also told you that if you wished to remain ignorant then it was up to you. My problem at this point is that my original explanation is not only obscured by mistranslation but also by the wily foxes amongst you (wily in their own wisdom and not the wisdom of God) who teach that speaking in tongues has passed and that references to speaking in tongues from my writings speak of earthly languages that can be learned. This teaching comes from the very pits of Hell!
Apart from this one special gift from the Creator that has nine different manifestations – speaking in tongues, interpretation of tongues, prophecy, word of knowledge, word of wisdom, discerning of spirits, faith, miracles, and gifts of healing (all healing is an individual gift from God) - the only other gifts we can talk about Biblically speaking are the gifts of healing themselves or the five gift ministries to the Church of pastors, teachers, prophets, apostles and evangelists. Any other gifts are natural gifts like having a gift for music or dance or singing. The manifestations of the gift of holy spirit though, are not gifts but manifestations of the gift, and should never be referred to as anything other than what they are.
Satan has deceived you in this to his own benefit! He benefits much from your ignorance and misunderstanding! He prefers you to believe that speaking in tongues is a gift and that it is given to only a few. Speaking in tongues inhibits his power here on Earth, holds back his plans. It is perfect praise to the Creator! The Devil and his cohorts despise this manifestation. It is the base or foundational manifestation in a believer’s life that allows a son or a daughter of God to tap into the other eight manifestations which in turn allow you to walk with boldness and in confidence with God as a conquering hero! Can you see why the Devil will do all he can to stop you from understanding these great truths and from manifesting such power?
Now you know and understand what the gift is and of its manifestations and also the difference between the gift (holy spirit) and the Giver of the gift (Holy Spirit) who is the Creator God Himself. Let us now move on and explain further my words to you in chapters 12, 13 and 14 of 1st Corinthians.
The first thing I would like to clarify for you is the power contained in this base manifestation of speaking in tongues and why therefore I said to you in ancient times “I thank my God above all things I speak in tongues more than you all”.
In the Law it is written “For with stammering lips and another tongue will He speak unto this people”. To whom He said “This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing”. Yet they would not hear. But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little and there a little that they might not fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken. Wherefore hear the word of the Lord ye scornful men that rule this people. Because ye have said “We have made a covenant with death, and with Hell are we in agreement, when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us, for we have made lies our refuge and under falsehood have we hid ourselves”.
Therefore thus saith the Lord God, “Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation. He that believeth shall be constant”.
“Judgement also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet, and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place. And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with Hell shall not stand”.
And what said this precious corner stone? “In My Name shall they cast out devils, they shall speak with new tongues, they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not harm them, they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover”. “The works that I do shall ye do also and greater works than these shall ye do for I go unto the Father”.
Brethren, speaking in tongues therefore is set forth as a stumbling block to some but to others it is a rest and a refreshing! It is also a strengthening with might of the spirit within (Ephesians 3: 16). It makes intercession between God and the saints when you do not know specifically what needs prayed for (Romans 8: 27). It makes intercession between God and ourselves as individuals when we are not sure what to ask in a situation (Romans 8: 26, right prayer). It builds up our spirit (1 Corinthians 14: 4). It edifies or builds up the members of the Church when interpretation is given at a meeting of the Church (1 Cor 14: 5). It allows us communication with the Father, speaking mysteries and divine secrets (1 Cor. 14: 2). It gives thanks well (1 Cor. 14: 17). It keeps us in constant awareness that we are the sons of God and joint heirs with Christ (Romans 8: 16, 17). It helps us to overcome our infirmities (Romans 8: 26). It is a witness to those who do not believe (1 Cor. 14: 22).
One thing that must be clearly understood brethren is that Satan is the counterfeit god who is limited to copying everything that the One True God does. He is a fake and can do nothing else but to copy. Since my time here upon Earth, Satan has copied the manifestations as much as he is able to. He has managed to confuse the issue of speaking in tongues by producing his counterfeit version which is speaking Earthly languages backwards or by speaking Latin. If the Lord God Almighty Yahweh, the Creator of the heavens and the Earth has stated that speaking in tongues is a witness to those who do not believe then there must be a clear difference between Godly speaking in tongues and devilish babbling! Be ye wise as serpents in this!
The counterfeit works by demonic possession of the person manifesting. Without being demon possessed, the counterfeit cannot function. Christian believers on the other hand are free to manifest at any given moment, free from any kind of possession as our God does not possess!
In the world of the occult, let it be made known to you all that demons can take full possession of the mind and the vocal chords of their victim or willing workers. That can account for changes in the voice of the person. A worker of the occult cannot speak his counterfeit tongues at will, but only whilst possessed. Normally a worker of the occult will speak forth nonsense whilst attempting to prophesy, that can be witnessed freely by all who are alert, watching and listening. All prophesying must line up perfectly with the Word of the Creator. One who sets forth a prophecy that is meant to come to pass will be found to be a liar when his prophecy falls to the ground! Normally, prophecy from a Christian believer will be words that edify and build up the body of believers present and will not be talking of future events although that cannot be ruled out. Workers of the occult will normally try to prophesy future events only.
1 Cor. 12: 1: “Now concerning spiritual matters (both God´s realm and Satan´s), I would not have you ignorant”.
In order for you to understand more clearly the holy spirit field, you must remember that pneuma hagion (holy spirit), without the article “the” in front of it, always refers to the gift from God and not to God Himself. The article “the” never appears in the early manuscripts nor in the Greek texts when referring to God so therefore, when it is placed before holy spirit or holy ghost in your Bible, it is a personal translation and may be incorrectly put there. The other point to keep in mind is the fact that the translators also used capital letters with the “H” and the “S” or small case “h” and “s” as it pleased them!
If you looked at the words pneuma hagion without the article “the” as it is found in more than 50 passages in the Critical Greek texts of the New Testament, you would find that they are never used in reference to God, who is The Holy Spirit, but rather, are used to refer to His gift of holy spirit. This gift is an inherent power, a spiritual ability, dunamis, power from on high. It is not manifested power, like in a dynamo. Exousia, which is Greek for exercise, is our God given authority to exercise this power dunamis. This power can only be manifested in the senses realm according to our ability to believe the Word, renew our minds to the Word, and to walk forth boldly for God.
This “power from on high”, the gift, is of no use to us if we do not believe to use it in the senses realm. Like a car engine, if you never turn the key, and fill the tank that feeds it, the engines power will remain dormant forever. Another word, energēmata which is translated “workings” or “operations’ is this dunamis in operation.
The scriptures refer to nine operations, energēmata which are the workings of this potential energy as power. To exercise your full potential as a son of the Most High God, you must exercise or unleash this dunamis energy which will be manifested in the senses realm. It is as you will. You must will to do it! It is no good sitting back and saying “well I asked God for this power or for that gift or this gift or for this manifestation of speaking in tongues, but He never gave it to me!” Brethren, that is not the attitude of a son of the Most High! That is the attitude of a defeatist, a weak Christian who basically does not believe to receive! God needs His sons to be persevering and patient. Speaking in tongues though, the base manifestation, need only be explained in simple terms. How it works and how to manifest. The believer will manifest speaking in tongues without fail if he or she receives enough encouragement.
In the book of Acts you will find that speaking in tongues was always the first manifestation of the gift of holy spirit. Proof in the senses realm that you truly are born again from above:
Acts 2: 4: “… and began to speak with other tongues, as the spirit (the gift, the pneuma) gave them utterance.”
Acts 10: 46: “For they heard them speak with tongues...”
Acts 19: 6: “… and they spake with tongues…”
By speaking in tongues, your spirit will be built up and strengthened, you will become spiritually keen and perceptive and a lot bolder. This “least” of manifestations which gets mocked by the Church and therefore ignored by most Christians, is actually one of the greatest keys to the more abundant life and to walking in power. Without speaking in tongues you will not be able to access the other eight manifestations in their totality, you may though, through your walk of love and obedience, access some of them through God’s divine grace but you will never walk as powerfully or as spiritually perceptive and keen as God wants you to.
How do you receive this power into manifestation? By following some very simple guidelines:
1 – You must not doubt. It is imperative that you believe wholeheartedly that you are born again and that God has truly made it available for all believers to speak in tongues.
2 – You must stay calm and relaxed, thanking God that His holy spirit gift is within you and that you are going to manifest its inherent power in the senses realm. The greatest cargoes in life come in over calm seas.
3 – Open your mouth and breathe in deeply the spirit of God and using your vocal chords, your lips, your tongue, begin to speak out whatever sounds come to your mind. Formulate words that are not from any Earthly language you speak, but from an unknown language to you. As each sound or word exits your mouth, God will supply you with the next and the next and the next if you keep attempting to speak. Just like a dripping tap, drip after drip after drip you will speak forth more sounds and words until you have the confidence to speak them more fluently and boldly.
With practice, your tongues will become as fluent as the Earthly language you speak. Practice going through the alphabet, one letter at a time, formulating words with that one letter – for example only - the letter “a”, abarash, antorkosh, arintash, araba, arinkon, arashta, aikinon etc etc. the letter “b”, barina, baroshta, barinka, borishton, barra, and so on right through the entire alphabet. This is good practice and will aid you greatly in developing your tongues. You are praising the Creator God and building up your inner gift of holy spirit!
Remember brethren that each persons tongues are normally very different and unique. Formulate your own distinctive words as you feel the sounds leaving your tongue. Our Lord’s last minute instructions to His apostles before His ascension:
John 20: 22: “And when He had said this, He breathed (en = in, He breathed in) and saith unto them, receive (lambanō) ye the holy ghost (pneuma hagion).”
The words “on them” which come after “He breathed” should be deleted as I have done above. You see brethren, the power from on high, pneuma hagion, was not given until Pentecost, so this record in John was only a last minute final instruction on how they were to receive the gift when the sign appeared to them. He was instructing them on what they should do at the precise moment it was to be given, and, as recorded in Acts, they did breathe in the gift of the holy spirit. That was the sound “like as a rushing mighty wind”. “From heaven” only means “in the air’. One translator has in fact given a more accurate rendering: “there came a sound from heaven as of hard (or heavy) breathing.”
In other words, this can be understood as: “And suddenly, in the air was heard the sound of heavy breathing.” When twelve grown men all breathe in strongly at the same time inside a quiet temple that has excellent acoustics, you can easily imagine how it would sound. Like a rushing mighty wind!
Look, you can pray, you can beg, you can stand on your head for a week if you like and cause yourself to suffer, you can fast, you can do all of these things and more, day after day if you like for as long as you like, but you will most probably never speak in tongues until you decide to! God has already done His part. He cannot do any more and is waiting for you to move and to do your part! You have simply got to get to the point of believing His Word to you and acting upon it as a son of the Most High! Obey the command and speak in tongues! Without doing so you will remain a spiritual baby.
Were not we apostles sent out to various households to make sure that all the believers received into manifestation the gift of holy spirit? We had to make sure that they had received into manifestation (lambanō) and not only subjectively (dechomai).
Acts 1: 5: “For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized in the holy ghost (pneuma hagion) not many days hence.”
The word “with” in your Bible is the word “en” in Greek which means “in”. This instruction from the Lord was to inform them that their baptism would not be in water but in the holy spirit.
Acts 8: 14: “Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received (dechomai) the Word of God, they sent unto them peter and John.’
Understand this, these people had received the holy spirit, the gift, but only subjectively, like the majority of Christians today.
Vs 15: “Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive (lambanō) the holy ghost (pneuma hagion).”
These believers had not spoken in tongues, so Peter and John were sent to them to help them believe to do so!
Vs 16: “(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them, only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus).”
In Aramaic there is no neuter gender, therefore you get this translation “He” which does not appear in other scriptures that have it translated “it”, as it should have been here. If a person gets baptized in the name of the Lord, it is pretty obvious that the person believed in Christ being the Son of the Creator Yahweh, therefore, it is plain to see that these people were born again, the problem was that the people, the disciples who had been involved in preaching to them had not been sufficiently instructed in how to help people manifest the gift of holy spirit.
Vs 17: “Then laid they their hands on them, and they received (lambanō) the holy ghost (pneuma hagion).”
They spoke in tongues!
Peter and John laid their hands on them and prayed, to boost their believing to receive into manifestation the gift of holy spirit, and they manifested! The laying on of hands is not necessary, only proper instruction is required. Baptism of any kind is not necessary. The initial outpouring of the holy spirit gift brought with it a visible sign to mark this tremendous event. Tongues of fire were seen sitting upon the heads of the apostles. That of course was a one off event that has never happened since and is not required. “Baptised in the holy ghost” is never used in God’s Word after the day of Pentecost except in referring back to that day. Any other mentions are additions to scripture by scribes or translators. And who is the promise of the gift to by which we can manifest in the senses realm?
Acts 2: 39: “For the promise is unto you (Israel), and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”
The promise of the gift of holy spirit by which you can speak in tongues, speak in tongues and interpret, prophesy, receive word of wisdom, word of knowledge, discerning of spirits, believing/faith on a higher plain, perform healings, working miracles, is to all peoples on the face of the Earth who are called by the Father to believe! That means you too!
I, Paul, the least of all the called out saints received all this into manifestation. I beg you to rise up and believe what the Word of the Lord God Almighty states plainly! Believe to receive!
Brother Ananias both ministered healing to my eyes and prayed for me to be filled with the holy spirit, that I too could manifest, which I did as you all know, but later I learned that this laying on of hands was unnecessary as when I preached to the masses, I could in no way lay hands on them all. All who believed to manifest the gift, spoke in tongues! It is the same for you today. God is no respecter of persons and this is still the Administration of Grace. Nothing will change until the administration changes.
Oh that you who believe not could find the humbleness within you to listen and learn, like Apollos of old who, being mighty in the scriptures, but knew only the baptism of John, came down to Ephesus to teach, and when Aquila and Priscilla had heard him preach, they took him aside and expounded more perfectly to him the truth of the Word and of the promise. I myself passed through Ephesus later and instructed those whom Apollos had brought to the Word, teaching them how to receive into manifestation, the gift. The record you will find in Acts 19: 1-7.
My beloved brethren, people can only teach that which they have learned themselves or have been taught by others. That is one of the Church’s main problems in these end times. If you have been wrongly taught, how can you expound the truth? More unbelief than true believing is being taught these days, of the which, I am deeply ashamed and distraught for you. Speaking in tongues and the manifestations of the gift have been tossed aside by the Church – much to its shame and has cost the Church dearly! Centuries of wrong teaching, which has become tradition among you. Tradition to man is seemingly much more important than truth!
It is now time for me to clarify my explanations to the Corinthians who, although they were manifesting, were not adhering to the strict code of conduct regarding this serious matter. This re-explanation is to the humble in Christ who desire to both know the truth and obey it. It needs to be done due to its bad translation, and I say, deliberate bad translation!
This book of Corinthians was written to the Church, it includes you, the reader!
1 Cor. 12: 1: “Now concerning spiritual ‘gifts’ (matters) brethren, I would not have you ignorant.” (The word ‘gifts’ appears in no Greek texts. It should be matters).
I will include some basic commentaries where necessary to aid your understanding.
Vss 2, 3: “You know that you were Gentiles, carried away unto worshipping dumb idols, even as you were led. Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the spirit of God (pneuma Theo, the gift of holy spirit that allows one to speak in tongues) calls Yashua (Jesus) accursed, and that no man can say that Yashua is the Lord in his life, but by the holy spirit.” (The inborn gift of holy spirit that gives you the power to speak in tongues, which is a witness to you that you truly are born again).
You see brethren, by speaking in tongues, you truly can say that Yashua is the Lord of your life and know for a certainty that you are indeed a born again son or daughter of the Most High God, Yahweh! Without speaking in tongues, how can you be sure that you truly are born again and that the spirit of the Creator and His only begotten Son dwells within you? Manifesting the holy spirit gift gives you confidence and builds up your spiritual dynamo with spiritual energy that can be released when you need it! Did I not tell you before that my explanations to the Corinthians were the commandments of the Lord?
1 Cor. 14: 37: “If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.”
You disobey a direct command by refusing to manifest the gift, which gift was paid for by the blood of your Saviour! We cannot please God with unbelief and disobedience.
1 Cor. 12: 4: “Now there are different gifts, but they come from the same Spirit”. (Or Giver, Yahweh).
Now here I am referring to the other gifts from God to the Church itself which have nothing to do with the manifestations of the holy spirit gift to individual believers. I am talking about the five gift ministries of pastors, teachers, evangelists, prophets and apostles.
Vs 5: “And there are differences of administrations (or ministries, services) but the same Lord.
6: And there are different effects produced but it is the same God who energises all the gifts.
7: But (in contrast to the above), the manifestation of the spirit (the gift), is given to every man who believes, for his profit ultimately and immediately”.
In other words brethren, the gift is to all and all can manifest as we have been commanded to do and to profit from doing so. The manifestations of the gift of holy spirit are not “gifts” for some only, but they are manifestations that we have all been called to perform as obedient sons and daughters.
8-10: (“For a word of wisdom is given by the same Spirit for profit; and a word of knowledge is given by the same Spirit for another profit; and faith (believing) by the same Spirit for another profit; and gifts of healing are given by the same Spirit for another profit, and the working of miracles is given by the same Spirit for another profit; and prophecy is given by the same Spirit for another profit, and discerning of spirits is given by the same Spirit for another profit; and kinds of tongues are given by the same Spirit for another profit; and interpretation of tongues is given by the same Spirit for another profit”).
Verses 8-10 are a parenthesis.
Beloved, was I not emphasising the truth that all nine manifestations are energised by the same spirit of God, each for specific reasons and each involving profit? The profit being for the individual himself or for other believers. The manifestations also glorify the Father.
The majority of these manifestations were available before as you will find if you study the Old Testament records. The added manifestations are:
1 - Speaking in tongues.
2 - Interpretation of tongues.
The Lord Yashua Messiah operated the other 7 manifestations of the gift of holy spirit as did many other men of God through the ages. All 9 can be separated into 3 clear groups:

Verse 11: “But all of these (all nine manifestations) are energized by God, who gives to each man as each man wills.” (Not as God wills, as each person wills, this agrees with verse 7).
The next 16 verses are an illustration of the first 11 verses:
12: “For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
13: For by one spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free, and have all been made to drink into one spirit.
14: For the body is not one member, but many.
15: If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body, is it therefore not of the body?
16: And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body, is it therefore not of the body?
17: If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole body was hearing, where would the nose be?
18: But now hath God set all the members in the body, as it pleased Him.
19: And if they were all one member, where would the body be?
20: But now there are many members, yet one body.
21: “And the eye cannot say to the hand, I have no need of thee, nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
22: No, much more, those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary.
23: And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour, and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.
24: For our comely parts have no need, but God hath compounded the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked:
25: That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should care for one another.
26: And if one member suffer, all the members suffer together; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice together
27: Now you are the body of Christ, and each in his part”.
Now all the above talk about a physical body was to illustrate the same truth as regards the spiritual body which had been set out in the first 11 verses!
Verse 28: “And God hath set some in the Church, first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly teachers, after that, some as miracle workers, others as healers, others still who are good as helpers or for governing, and some whose ministry is diversity of tongues. (Those who are gifted in languages).
29: Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all miracle workers?
30: Do all heal? Do all speak with tongues in church? Do all interpret in church?”
The short answer is “No they do not!” Not all believe to manifest the gift of holy spirit in their lives. Some through fear, some through doubt, and many more through wrong teaching!
In humans, this is very normal behaviour, but with the passing of years a person gains confidence and strength – especially those who obey the command to speak in tongues! Many though, through the cares of this life, become stifled, speak in tongues less and less and even read the Word less.
Verse 31: “But covet earnestly, or earnestly desire the best gifts (that will best suit your church’s needs).
This verse is referring again to the 5 gift ministries.
31 continued: “And yet show I unto you a more excellent way than coveting these gift ministries.”
A more excellent way than earnestly desiring a gift ministry is to walk in love – the love of God in the renewed mind of the believer, in manifestation in the senses realm, is the highest walk of love a son or daughter of God can reach for, like the walk of love of our Lord Yashua! If all Christians reached so high and walked the walk of love of Yashua Messiah, then all the needs of the Church would be met – no-one would need to earnestly desire any gift ministry – that is the more excellent way!
There are two Greek words used in God’s Word for love:
Phileō – natural or human love.
Agapaō – divine love or Godly love.
The next chapter I wrote by inspiration of God, chapter 13 of Corinthians, refers only to agapaō love which is possible only for believing Christians. It has been translated in the KJV as “charity” which I will put right here for better clarity.
13: 1: “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels and have not the love of God in the renewed mind in manifestation (agapaō), I am become like roaring brass, or a tinkling cymbal.”
In other words, it will profit me almost nothing! Not that speaking in tongues is completely nullified in me for profit (i.e., the building up of my spiritual man), but that its effect for good will be reduced in me through pride.
2: “And though I manifest prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge, and though I have mature believing so that I could remove mountains (problems in life), and have not the love of God in the renewed mind in manifestation, I am nothing.
3: And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned out working for the Lord Yashua and have not renewed mind Godly love, it profits me nothing.
4: “Renewed mind Godly love suffereth long, and is kind; it envies not, and is not proud!
5: Doth not behave herself unseemly, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6: Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but in the truth.
7: Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8: Renewed mind Godly love will never cease, but prophecy shall vanish away, tongues shall vanish away, worldly knowledge shall vanish away”.
Brethren - if tongues have indeed ceased then so has knowledge! Logic within the churches today though has ceased!
9: “For we know now in part, and we prophesy now in part.
10: But when that which is perfect has come (Yashua Messiah), then that which is in part shall be done away.
11: When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
(Now this prophecy, verses 8-12, is for the future after Yashua’s return).
12: “For now we see through a dark mirror; but then, face to face, now I know in part, but then I shall know even as I am known.
13: And now abideth faith, hope, renewed mind Godly love, these three, but the greatest of these is renewed mind Godly love manifested in the senses realm, in the individual and within the Church”.
Now brethren, having explained thus far, the importance of each individual believer, each gift ministry, and also the tremendous importance of the impartation manifestations in the believer’s walk, we now come to the clarification of these three manifestations as the Church in Corinth had been misusing them and not following the basic rules that keep order and decency within the Church.
Pay strict attention to what I am about to say:
1 Cor. 14: 1: “Follow after renewed mind Godly love manifested in the senses realm, and desire supernatural manifestations and more properly, prophecy will be brought forth within the Church”.
In other words beloved, hunger after these spiritual manifestations as they are a means to building up the body of Christ, strengthening all believers and blessing them. It is direct contact with the Giver of the gift, the Lord God Almighty, Yahweh of Spiritual Hosts, Who energises all nine manifestations of holy spirit!
The prophecy manifestation is not the office of a prophet but a manifestation of the gift only. All Christians can believe to bring forth word of prophecy. Prophecy is to be desired above speaking in tongues and interpretation of tongues, which every Christian should be active in doing. As Christians grow spiritually strong and mature by speaking in tongues much - as I did myself, then speaking forth word of prophecy will become more frequent within the Church.
2: “He who speaks in a tongue, (bypassing your normal thought processes for spoken language) is not speaking to men but to God (when he does not interpret it immediately on finishing so that the Church can understand what has been spoken forth. God gives you the interpretation on finishing, word by word if you trust Him to in the same way as He gives you word by word your speaking in tongues. By faith or believing, bypassing your thought processes, God will put each word in your mouth to speak forth. Fear and mistrust will block the process). For no man speaking in tongues understands what is being spoken, for in the spirit he speaks with his mouth divine secrets.
3: But he that prophesies (bypassing normal thought processes) speaks to people, building them up with words of exhortation and comfort.
4: He that speaks in tongues builds himself up only, but he that brings forth word of prophecy builds up the whole Church.
5: I would that you all spoke in tongues (God’s will for all Christians as it strengthens your walk) but even more that you prophesied (to build up the body of believers present): for greater is he that prophesies than he that speaks in tongues (for he builds up the believers present, not himself only), except that he interpret, that the Church may receive edifying. (When he speaks in tongues and interprets the tongues spoken, it becomes more like prophecy because all present can then understand the message).
6: “Now brethren, if I come unto you speaking in tongues, what shall I profit you unless I speak to you either by revelation knowledge from God or by word of prophecy or by teaching directly from the Word?
7: And even things without life, giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?
In other words brethren, speaking in tongues within the Church group without interpretation of those spoken tongues, is of no use whatsoever!
8: “For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself for battle?
9: So likewise, except you utter by the tongue, words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? For you shall speak into the air. (Albeit divine secrets and mysteries with God but it will not help the gathered together for they shall understand nought!)
10: There are, it may be, so many kinds of tongues in the world, and none of them are not significant.
11: If I know not the meaning of the tongue, I shall be unto him that speaketh, a barbarian or foreigner, and likewise, he that speaketh in tongues, lest he interpret, shall be like a foreigner to me.
12: So you also, since you are so zealous to manifest the supernatural in church, seek to abound to the end of edifying the Church.
13: Wherefore let him that speaks in tongues in church believe to interpret as well.
14: For if I choose to pray in tongues my spirit talks to God, but my mind gains nothing.
15: What about all of this then? I will pray in tongues and I will pray using my mind also in my own language, I will make melody by singing in tongues, and I will make melody by singing in my own language. (In my private walk with God, not in a church setting).
16: “Otherwise, if you choose to praise God by singing or praying in tongues only, how shall he who fills the position of the unlearned in spiritual matters say Amen, Amen at your thankfulness since he does not understand that speaking in tongues is prayer or praise to God?
17: For you truly give thanks well, but the other is not built up (not understanding what is spoken or sung).
18: I thank my God I speak in tongues more than you all. (In my personal life and walk with God, knowing by experience the tremendous benefits and power gained in the process, the strengthening of my spirit, direct communication with God, revelation, healing power, miracles, becoming spiritually perceptive and wise).
19: “Yet in the church group I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in tongues.
20: Brethren, be not children in understanding, however in evil intentions be like children, but in understanding, be men. (Understanding the things of the spirit, the manifestations of the gift).
21: In the law it is written, ‘With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that they will not hear Me, saith the Lord Yahweh’
22: Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that do not believe: but prophesying serves not for them who do not believe, but for them who believe”.
Speaking in tongues sounds more like a miraculous happening than hearing word of prophecy in your own language.
Verse 23: “If therefore the whole church be come together into one place and all speak in tongues, and there come in those who are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that you are all mad?
These things have happened and still happen within the churches – much to the shame of the Church! It is neither a good witness to God or man. It discredits the worship manifestations and puts Christians off understanding them. A clear understanding of the manifestations is vital. No wonder God’s adversary, the Devil, has worked hard on obscuring them!
24: “But if all give a word of prophecy, and there come in one who does not believe, or is unlearned, he will be convinced by all that he hears and be lovingly convinced of the truth.
25: And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest, and so falling down on his face, he will worship God and report that God is in you of a truth!
26: Why is it then, brethren, knowing this truth, that when you come together you all want to manifest or read a psalm or teach from the Word or give revelation knowledge or give a message by way of speaking in tongues with interpretation? Let all things be done unto the edifying of the Church”.
Confusion does not come from God!
27: “If any man speaks in tongues in church, let it be two or three at the most and let them speak in order, one by one, and let that same *one interpret.
(*heis = same one or each one – not someone else).
28: But if a person cannot believe to give the interpretation of his tongues, let him keep silence in the church, and let him speak to himself and to God (in tongues).
29: Let the prophets speak, two or three and let the others judge”.
If there is in your church group the gift ministry of a prophet or prophets, let them give their revelation knowledge one by one. Prophets will foretell that which has not been revealed before but it will always be in total agreement with the Word. For that reason, listen carefully to what is being put forth, checking it against the written Word. Many false prophets are going around!
30: “If anything be revealed to another prophet that sits by, let the first prophet hold his peace.
31: For you may all prophesy (the prophets) one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted”.
This has nothing to do with the manifestation of word of prophecy which is available to all Christians. It is talking about the gift ministry of prophets.
32: “And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets”. (All done decently and in order with no-one attempting to speak over another. God does not control prophets as if they were robots. That is Satan’s domain! God’s children have freedom of will to do or not to do as the spirit moves. Each Christian is responsible to stand and speak for God or speak words from God as God prompts them. God does not force.
33: “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
34: Let your women (wives of the prophets) keep silence in the churches, for it is not permitted unto them to speak, but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
35: And if they (the wives of the prophets) want to learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home, for it is a shame for them to speak in the church.
36: What? Came the word of God out from you (the prophet’s wives)? Or came it unto you only?
37: If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord”.
Has not this verse, brethren, been ignored by the mainstream churches? The commandments of the Lord Yashua! Containing all the necessary information needed to grow spiritually strong by way of the manifestations of the gift of holy spirit! The Church in its Earthly wisdom has instead looked for ways to deny the manifestations of the gift, finding weak excuses for their wrong beliefs and wrong teaching! Unable to rightly divide the Word and reach the point of a proper understanding of the truth of the Word, they rather teach and believe fables concerning it! Remember – Adam and Eve fell through disobedience to the truth of a command!
38: “But if any man wants to remain ignorant, let him remain ignorant!
And not only have you chosen to remain ignorant, you believe and teach lies concerning spiritual matters, mocking God’s Word in the process! But in this you mock your own selves – God is not mocked! You are the ones who remain blind in your ignorance, walking without power. You walk as blind men, as broken cisterns, allowing God’s adversary to strip you of your rewards! O deceitful generation, how can you be helped and cured of your blind state? I wish above all things that you could see the truth and walk in power even as the early Church did! But yes, they lost their power through compromising the truth of the Word with their apologetics and fear of the Romans! And where did that lead? It brought in Paganism! Paganism that can still be found at the heart of Christianity today, in these very last days! Did I not warn you whilst I was still upon this Earth? Did I not speak of deceitful men, wolves in sheep’s clothing who would spare not the sheep? Perilous times indeed! “I know that after my departing oppressive wolves shall enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also, of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them. Therefore watch! Remembering that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one, night and day, with tears.”
Now you may comprehend more easily the how come of your controlled churches and the tampering of God’s Holy Word! Satan does not sleep as the Church has slept and he needs no prompting, nor is he short of ideas, plans and schemes! Be deceived by him no longer!
Those of you who teach the lie that speaking in tongues is referring to speaking a known language – deceiving many in the process, will suffer the greater condemnation, suffering great loss and shame! You have done much damage to the truth of the Word, adding and subtracting, causing many to stumble in your wrong teaching. But you who listened like sheep, not working to rightly divide, not earnestly desiring to know the truth, were easily blinded!
Do you, having intelligence, truly believe that anyone would go to a foreign land, stand up before many, and expound the Gospel in a language unknown to them? God forbid such nonsense! I wonder at you! Through ignorance, laziness and pride you have been taken in Satan’s snare, his legions of demons laughing in your face! How come you have never understood the wiliness and craftiness of the Devil? Was he not created the wisest of all the beasts of the field? O foolish man, put pride aside, humble yourself and learn now, be ye wise as serpents and study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that need not be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth!
Verse 39: “Wherefore brethren, covet to prophesy and forbid not to speak in tongues (in church)”.
Who now dares to teach that speaking in tongues has passed away or is demonic? Do not nullify the Word of God and His commandments lest your place be taken by another and your name be removed from the Book of Life! O treacherous man who attempts to turn the truth of God’s Word into a lie, who puts forth false doctrines that came from the pits of Hell!
40: “Let all things be done decently and in order (in church).
The three worship manifestations are so called because they are used amongst the gathered together for public worship, coming directly from God by inspiration. Your earnest desire regarding these worship manifestations should be to bring forth a word of prophecy and not to remain with speaking in tongues with interpretation. Speaking in tongues is the base manifestation that builds up the spirit within a believer. It is the stepping stone to greater spiritual manifestations of the gift of holy spirit. If you refuse to speak in tongues, how then can you hope to manifest the remaining 8? One day, your life may depend on your ability to utilise the 9 manifestations or at least some of them. If you are not practised in them, how can you tap into the power of your holy spirit gift? Has God given us the gift in vain?
To those who teach that people who manifest speaking in tongues are in danger of receiving demonic tongues I say this, you speak for Satan and not for God! If your son is hungry would you give him a stone? If he thirsts, would you give him sand? Has not God protected the base manifestation of His gift by making it impossible for His adversary to counterfeit it? Have I not told you that that which has less honour has all the more abundant honour bestowed upon it? Beloved, why do you fear the gift of your heavenly Father?
If the adversary counterfeits this gift he can only do it by speaking gibberish which sounds like no language or Latin or a known language in reverse. He has been limited in his ability to counterfeit this manifestation. His people cannot speak in tongues at will as a Christian can do. His people have to be possessed before they can ‘manifest’. There is nothing to fear in honestly attempting to manifest this base manifestation, which will cause your spirit man to grow within. If I was not clear on this subject myself I would not be trying to encourage you. Speaking in tongues is your God given ability as a spirit filled believer to speak in a language unknown to you, but which may be an Earthly language or an angelic language, a message to God or in a believer’s meeting, a message for or from God.
Interpretation of tongues is your God given ability as a spirit filled believer to bring forth in a believer’s meeting the interpretation in your own language, of what you spoke in tongues.
Prophecy is your God given ability to bring forth in a believer’s meeting a message from God or for God in your own language (the language of the people present) that will exhort, edify and comfort people.
These three manifestations brethren, should be present in all churches around the world, and shame on them who ignore this final warning to the Church before the soon coming return of the Master, Yashua Messiah!
Those who have ears to hear, let them hear!
